Our fees have been set in accordance with the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi) fee recommendations. For a 60-minute psychology session, our fee is $220.00. Clients who have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHCP) are able to access a Medicare rebate (currently $101.55 per session, subject to Medicare requirements and eligibility). For NDIS participants (self-managed), the fee for a 60-minute psychology session is $230.00, in line with current NDIS pricing arrangements. Any additional phone calls, support care meetings or letters/reports will be an additional cost. At the moment, we only accept participants who are self-managed, and they will be provided with an invoice for reference.  Psychology sessions may be claimable through most private health funds. Following your appointment, you can submit your receipt directly to your health fund to claim any eligible rebate. Please note that private health insurance rebates cannot generally be claimed for the same session as a Medicare rebate.

If you would like to access Medicare-rebated psychology sessions, you may be eligible for a ‘Mental Health Care Plan’ (MHCP) through your General Practitioner (GP). Once your referral and MHCP have been received, we can process your Medicare rebate following each appointment once full payment has been made. Eligible clients can currently access up to 10 Medicare-rebated psychology sessions per calendar year. The Medicare rebate for sessions with a General Psychologist is currently $98.95 per session (subject to Medicare updates and eligibility requirements).

First sessions can be nerve-wrecking! Feel free to bring any fidgets, squishes or comfort items to help you feel calm. Your first appointment will involve a clinical assessment to explore your concerns, strengths, and goals. This helps us understand your needs and develop a personalised treatment plan to support you.

There are some times when there are exceptions to confidentiality. This may occur to protect you or the public from serious harm (i.e, plans to attempt suicide, child abuse, plans to hurt others). Your psychologist can also be ordered to release information by the court. In addition, if you are utilising a Mental Health Care Plan under Medicare rebate system, your psychologist will be required to write a report back to your referring GP at the 6 session mark and 10 session mark. If you are self-referred, reports are not sent to your GP. At your first session, you will receive Invoke Wellness’ policy, which covers this information and discusses how your personal information will be handled.
